Chris Ball is an entrepreneur and former professional football player with a unique origin story in the cannabis industry. As a teen, he sold cannabis to cover tuition costs for his junior college education. After earning himself a scholarship to UC Berkeley, Chris played both in the NFL and CFL before discovering his true passion - cultivating quality cannabis! On trips back home during the off-season, Chris was able to purchase top-grade product at incredibly low prices from friends' legal outdoor grows, and word quickly spread about who had 'the best bud in town.' Soon a chance business connection caught the attention of the FBI, and before he knew it, Ball was facing a felony charge and ten years in prison.

After a brief stint in prison and completing community service, Ball was free to go. But he knew cannabis was the path he wanted to take. With no prior knowledge of botany, he dedicated himself to learning it through practice - selling legally to Prop D-compliant shops while refining his cultivation skills over three years. When a 5,000 square foot warehouse became available in Los Angeles, with only 14 lights inside one room and believing this could be an opportunity for success within the legal market space – Ball took a chance on himself. And in 2016, a golden opportunity presented itself to the LA native, social equity licensing. With ambitious enthusiasm, he enlisted his brother Charles and, in 2018 - created Ball Family Farms.
