Dana Leigh Cisneros, Esq. has practiced law for nearly two decades, focusing on business and real estate law, representing a wide variety of individuals and companies throughout California. Ms. Cisneros is also an experienced and aggressive business litigator with a proven track record of success both inside and outside the courtroom. Ms. Cisneros prides herself on a strong commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional responsibility and ethical standards. Ms. Cisneros founded the Cannabis Corporate Law Firm to meet the unique needs of the commercial cannabis community with an eye toward diversity, compliance and legality from the outset to further her clients’ interests and avoid complicated legal and criminal issues in this complex, highly regulated industry.
Her knowledge and experience in structuring business entities, conducting due diligence and handling complicated transactions ensure that the cannabis industry maintains integrity as it continues to grow and evolve. The Cannabis Corporate Law Firm represents cannabis operators with a variety of licensing needs, including associated land use and compliance matters.
Almost immediately, Ms. Cisneros was recognized as one of the State of California’s top cannabis attorneys. She was not only nominated by the California Cannabis Business Awards as Cannabis Attorney of the Year in 2018 and 2019, but in 2018 was the only female attorney to be recognized as one of the Top 5 Cannabis Attorneys in California.
The Cannabis Corporate Law Firm was named the #2 law firm in all of Orange County by the Orange County Register in 2023.
For the past six years, Ms. Cisneros has focused exclusively on the California commercial cannabis industry, gaining insight into nearly every aspect of the business. Her clients include a wide range of businesses and investors as well as ancillary companies. During 2020-2021, the firm was largely focused on assisting with mergers and acquisitions and competitive license applications to assist businesses in expanding their legal footprint throughout California.
Ms. Cisneros assists dozens of licensed cannabis operators in maintaining corporate and regulatory compliance as outside corporate counsel in addition to managing the
majority of the clients’ local and state license needs. She also has successfully prepared all California Environmental Quality Act documentation on behalf of the Firm’s clients.
Ms. Cisneros also assists clients in managing their California Department of Tax & Fee Administration (CDTFA) issues, including negotiated settlements to help clients get back on their feet.
With this in mind, Ms. Cisneros completed the prestigious mediation program at UC Davis in December 2023 to further assist the commercial cannabis industry. Launching Full Spectrum Mediation with her colleague and dear friend Courtney Caron, the two aim to turn the cash pumps back on and bring reasonable parties back to the table to resolve their disputes.
Ms. Cisneros was an honored participant in the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA)’s efforts in designing both local and state level policies and drafting model legislation and ordinances to ensure equitable ownership opportunities for those impacted by the failed war on drugs. She serves as the legal advisor to Orange County NORML, is on the legal committee for California NORML and has assisted in refining legislation as well as actively participating in state advocacy days. Ms. Cisneros is also a current member of Drug Policy Alliance and the California Bar Association.
