Senator Shane Wilkin is serving his first term in the Ohio Senate, representing the 17th District which includes Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, and Vinton Counties, along with part of Perry County. He serves as Chairman of the Senate Public Utilities Committee and is a member of the Finance, Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources and Local Government committees. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Sportsman's Caucus of Ohio and sits on the Ohio Power Siting Board and the Ohio Controlling Board. Prior to the Senate, Wilkin served three terms as a Highland County Commissioner and held leadership roles with the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, Community Improvement Corporation, and Highland District Hospital Foundation. He has earned an "A+" rating from the National Rifle Association and has been endorsed by the Buckeye Firearms Association. He has also received the American Conservation Union's Award for Conservation Achievement for four consecutive years.
