Ernest Toney is the Founder and Principal at BIPOCann, an advisory firm dedicated to helping minority and social equity entrepreneurs succeed in the regulated cannabis industry. Since 2020, he has built partnerships, programs, and networks that have connected hundreds of founders with mentorship, education, and access to capital—helping his clients secure more than $2 million in funding and operating grants.

Ernest also leads a cannabis business accelerator for social equity license applicants through a state contract with the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, where he mentors entrepreneurs across multiple cannabis license categories.

He serves on the Cannabis Advisory Board at Metropolitan State University of Denver and previously worked in cannabis industry media and events, including MJBizDaily and Benzinga, where he supported conference marketing and partnership initiatives.
