Guy Reschenthaler was sworn in for his fourth term on January 3, 2025, representing Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District, which includes Washington, Fayette, Greene, and parts of Westmoreland, Indiana, and Somerset counties. He serves as the House Chief Deputy Whip and sits on the House Appropriations Committee for the 119th Congress. Guy previously served as the Vice-Chair on the House Rules Committee.

Raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Guy graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College and earned his law degree from Duquesne University. Following law school, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps, volunteering for duty in Iraq.

While deployed in Baghdad, Guy prosecuted nearly 100 terrorists, including some of Iraq’s most dangerous. He also successfully defended a Navy SEAL who was wrongly accused of prisoner abuse by the Obama Administration. Back in the U.S., he served as a Navy lawyer in Norfolk, Virginia, and led the Naval Legal Service Office in Texas and Oklahoma, where he became the first uniformed officer honored with the Southern District of Texas Federal Bar Association’s award for ethics and professionalism.

Returning to southwestern Pennsylvania, Guy practiced law and gained private sector experience as a partner in a small real estate business employing a dozen people. In 2013, he was elected Magisterial District Judge, and in 2015, he won election to the Pennsylvania State Senate.
